Creation of Column Schedule and Drawing Template using AutoCad

    1. Create a column schedule as shown in the figure.

    Note: Create a column schedule with the help of lines. Also, insert text with the help of Dtext command or Single Line text.

    Hint: Use font name: romans.shx; Height: 8”, Justify: Left

    AIM- To create column schedule as shown.

    INTRODUCTION-

    • Column schedule means table containing all the details of columns required during construction process.
    • Column schedule contails markings of column, size of columns, no of bars used, diameter of bars used, stirupps details and loacation of bars, etc.
    • Column schedule is given to us by structural engineer. 
    • commands in autoCAD-
      • Line- Start the Line command by clicking the Line button on the Draw panel on the Ribbon, or by entering L and then pressing Enter. Draw line segments by picking several random points. Terminate the command by pressing Enter, Esc, or the spacebar. Press Enter or the spacebar to repeat the Line command.
      • Circle- To draw a circle with AutoCAD, enter the CIRCLE command and With this option, you first click where you want the center point of the circle to be, then move the pointing device to establish the perimeter of the circle.
      • Dimensions- You can select objects or points on objects to dimension, and then click to place the dimension line. When you hover over an object, the DIM command automatically generates a preview of a suitable dimension type to use. Supported dimension types include vertical, horizontal, and aligned linear dimensions.
      • Text- Select text command from the Annotation menu of the Home tab of this software. We have two types of text command in auto cad. One is Multiline text, and the other is Single line text. You can use any one of the text commands according to your requirement.
      • Fillet- Select the Fillet command from the ribbon panel, Or Type F on the command line or command prompt and press Enter. then Select the first object,Type R or Radius. Enter. Then Specify the radius of the Fillet and press Enter and Select the second object.
      • Trim- Click Home tab Modify panel Trim. Find. Select the objects to serve as cutting edges. Press Enter when you finish selecting the cutting edges. Select the objects to trim and press Enter a second time when you finish selecting the objects to trim.
      • Offset- We can offset any object through a point or at a specified distance. We can create as many parallel lines and curves with the help of the offset command.

    PROCEDURE-

    STEP 1-

    • Type units in command line. Then select length type as engineering precision as 0'-0" and insertion scale as inches and press ok.

    STEP 2-

    • Select line command and draw table with the help of line command.
    • Line- Start the Line command by clicking the Line button on the Draw panel on the Ribbon, or by entering L and then pressing Enter. Draw line segments by picking several random points. Terminate the command by pressing Enter, Esc, or the spacebar. Press Enter or the spacebar to repeat the Line command.

    STEP 3- 

    • From home tab and annotation panel go on annotative text.
    • Then manage text style
    • And then select text style as romans.shx And height of text as 8".
    • Then apply and set current.

    STEP 4-

    • Now select single line command and type required texts in the table formed.

    STEP 5-

    • Now draw column reinforcement details for C1 & C1a columns.
    • Using rectangle command, fillet command, etc.

    2. Create a window schedule as shown in the figures:

    Window Schedule:

    AIM- To draw window schedule as shown.

    INTRODUCTION- 

    • Window schedule means the table containing details of window.
    • Window schedule contains type, width, height, numbers, and location of windows.
    • Sometimes it contains the type of material used for the construction.

    commands in autoCAD-

    • Line- Start the Line command by clicking the Line button on the Draw panel on the Ribbon, or by entering L and then pressing Enter. Draw line segments by picking several random points. Terminate the command by pressing Enter, Esc, or the spacebar. Press Enter or the spacebar to repeat the Line command.

    3. Create the drawing template as shown in the figure:< Use the Notes as in the figure>

    AIM- To create a drawing templete as shown in the figure.

    INTRODUCTION-

    • A drawing template file is a drawing file that has been saved with a .dwt file extension, and it specifies the styles, settings, and layouts in a drawing, including title blocks. The default drawing template files are provided as samples.
    • Create all of the objects in the drawing that you want as in templet. Then Click File menu Save As and, under File Format, select AutoCAD Drawing Template. Then In the Save Drawing As dialog box, File Name text box, enter a name for the drawing template and click Save.

    • Set limit to 150'x100' by using LIMAX command.
    • and by using line command draw drawing page border.
    • And draw table to create drawing templete.

    STEP 2-

    • Now add all the nessasary data in to the table formed.
    • By using single text command and height as 8", and style as romans.shx.

    STEP 3-

    • Then go on save as then select Drawing templete.

    STEP 4-

    • Then enter file name and then click on save.

     

     

    4. Create the list of drawing schedule as shown in the figure:

    AIM- To create schedule of drawings.

    INTRODUCTION-

    • Open the sheet to contain the schedule table.>Open the tool palette that you want to use, and select a Schedule Table tool.>On the Properties palette, expand Basic General.>Select a style and instead of selecting objects in the drawing, press Enter.>Specify the insertion point of the schedule table.
    • Schedule of drawings- It is a list of drawings with detailed name, number and all details of drawing.
    • Table command- Enter TABLE at the Command prompt.>In the Insert Table dialog box, enter 4 columns and 3 data rows. Specify a location for the table.>Click outside the table, and then select it on an edge to display its grips.>To change the size and shape of the table, click the dark blue triangular grips.
    • Line- Start the Line command by clicking the Line button on the Draw panel on the Ribbon, or by entering L and then pressing Enter. Draw line segments by picking several random points. Terminate the command by pressing Enter, Esc, or the spacebar. Press Enter or the spacebar to repeat the Line command.
    • Text- Select text command from the Annotation menu of the Home tab of this software. We have two types of text command in auto cad. One is Multiline text, and the other is Single line text. You can use any one of the text commands according to your requirement.

    PROCEDURE-

    STEP 1-

    • Enter TABLE command in command line.
    • Then insert table dialauge box will pop up.
    • Then enter columns as 3, data rows as 30,
    • 1st row- title 
    • 2nd row-title 
    • all other rows- data.
    • and then click on ok.

    STEP 2-

    • Now by using tabledit command enter text.
    • for no column select alignment as middle center.
    • For drawing no column select alignment as middle left.
    • And for description column select alignment as middle left.

     

     

    5. Create the Beam detail as shown in the figure and provide text wherever given.

    AIM- To create the beam details as shown in figure.

    INTRODUCTION-

    • Beam section- A long, thick piece of wood, metal, or concrete, especially used to support weight in a building or other structure.
    • Beam takes load from above structural element i.e. from slab or roof and transfers it to the column.

     

    PROCEDURE-

    STEP 1-

    • First of all set the limit to page by using LIMAX command.
    • Then by using units command, Type units in command line. Then select length type as engineering precision as 0'-0" and insertion scale as inches and press ok.

    STEP 2-

    • By using line command draw wall and section of beam.

    STEP 3-

    • Use hatch command.
    • use hatch for wall section and concrete for beam section.

    STEP 4-

    • Now give required dimensions to the figure by using dimensions command.

    RESULT-

    • All the given figures and schedules are drawn successfully.
