This introductory course gets you started on automation processes if you do the pre-processing steps in ANSA. Freshers who have no prior experience in programming can use this course as a starting point. You will learn about plotting and visualizations, solving dynamic equations, iterative solvers, fitting curves, and data analysis using Python tools.
As part of the course, you have two projects: breaking the ice with an air-cushion vehicle and one on data analysis, both of which give you a sense of how to use Python for automotive applications.
The second course is HyperMesh for FEA, Plastic and Sheet Metal Applications, purely for pre-processing, where you learn how to apply meshing for these applications.
This module starts with the basics of HyperMesh, its GUI, and FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and moves on to different types of meshing (1D, 2D, 3D, batch), geometric tools, and morphing techniques. All these concepts come with real-life examples and assignments to help you understand better.
The two projects in this course are the meshing of an inner panel and the meshing of a plastic component in a car's spare tire.
The third course emphasizes automation, starting with TCL commands and building a GUI using TK. The second part of the master's course deals with practical applications like the importance of order, quality check, and miscellaneous topics.
Here too, you have to complete two projects to gain experience in automating time-consuming tasks. One project is on understanding master utility, and the other is on generating a model report in HyperMesh.
The fourth module, automation using Ansys Workbench & Python, is about automating solvers in ANSYS using Python. Students will get a comprehensive introduction to ANSYS (including ACT) and Python, and how to build apps, two of the most commonly used industrial software tools for structural simulations.
The two projects in this module give you a significant edge over your peers since you gain hands-on experience in automation. In the first project, you automate an ANSYS mechanical setup, and in the second one, you build a wizard in ANSYS.
Here, you learn about how to use ANSA for pre-processing, and the concepts are similar to those of what you learn to do in HyperMesh (meshing, mid-surfacing, and morphing). After this course, you will learn how to use HyperMesh and ANSA to accomplish similar tasks, so you can choose whichever language works better for you.
There are two modeling projects in this course: an automotive trim IP component and an automotive suspension assembly.
A relatively shorter course, the course gives you an introduction to MATLAB and some examples of how you can use the language to solve mechanical engineering problems like kinematics, vibrations, and dynamics. You also learn about mathematics concepts like regression and genetic algorithms. As your ability to use MATLAB and Python increases the employment opportunities that you might encounter will also rise.
For the projects, you have to use MATLAB to parse a file containing NASA thermodynamic property calculations and simulate a Rankine cycle.
The final course covers the combined use of MATLAB and MASTAN for automation. Structural systems and analysis, explicit solvers, and virtual work frames are some topics that are part of this module, along with several forms of non-linear analysis.
